Dream boat

So,I don't think I've mentioned this on my blog yet, although Im sure most of my followers are aware, that I'm currently living on a lovely boat in Bristol! So, (maybe somewhat unsurprisingly), I've recently been sketching some boats.I have to admit these are ones I saw on holiday but my plan is to draw lots of Bristolian boats and barges and maybe use the pattern for my deck-chairs now instead of my wild flower pattern,it somehow now seems more appropriate. Im going to wait and see what the pattern turns out like first though and then make a decision. I really need to work on my backgrounds as white is just not a practical colour for outdoor furniture!
I've also set myself the rather ambitious project of replacing all the curtains on the boat, eeeek!

Found some vintage deck-chairs...horray!

Yesterday after looking for some for awhile, I finally found two vintage deck-chairs in one of my favorite vintage shops in Clifton, Bristol.Horray! The rest of my deck-chair project can finally commence! Almost seems a shame to re-upholster the stripy fabric really but it will be fun to put my own designs on them. Couldn't resist taking them up the suspension bridge for a chill first though with my mum.

Ship shape and Bristol fashion

This month I have been really busy uprooting myself to live on a boat in Bristol!Im afraid I don't have any new designs to share with you all because I've been too busy sorting things out down here. However I have found myself a space to work in,my own little studio within BV studios which is really exciting. Thought I'd share some pictures of Bristol I've taken this month instead anyway....

Patchwork girl in a patchwork world

I re-discovered some of my favorite patchwork images today, I love these images, they make me want to travel the world with my patchwork blanket in the back of a camper van! After the success of finishing my huge patchwork blanket (horray!) I'm starting to think my next project is to work really small and combine my patchwork with embroidery and bead work;will definitely be looking at these for inspiration.....
